Apprentice Electrician

We are currently looking for an Apprentice Electrician for a nominal term of four years.

What does an Apprentice Electrician do?

As an apprentice, you will learn how to install, test, repair and maintain electrical wiring, circuit boards or electronics. You may perform these services either inside or outside homes or commercial buildings, power generation facility or on electrical machinery and equipment. Electricians may also work on low-voltage wiring systems such as alarms and security systems, and data, telephone, internet and video cabling.

You will be enrolled in a Certificate III in Electro Technology Systems (Electrician). This is the official trade qualification for electricians in Australia. It is a nationally recognised qualification which means that it is valid in all states of Australia.

The qualification takes 4 years to complete and requires both on-the-job training and study blocks at TAFE. As electrical is a licensed trade, it is a requirement that all qualified trades people have completed 4 years on-the-job training as well as the TAFE component.

In order to succeed in this position, you must have strong maths skills. You will also need:

  • A good attendance record at either work or school
  • A good work ethic and the ability to accept direction
  • Be able to demonstrate that you are a good team player.
