We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to be the driving force behind the Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre Hatchery and marine environment operations.

With a passion for the visitor experience and technical skill to elevate the hatchery to one of Australia’s leading breeding and restocking centres, you will join a team dedicated to growing the aquaculture industry in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and will be passionate about promoting the Gulf of Carpentaria. Accordingly, this position will enjoy a close working relationship with local tourism operators and the staff of the Karumba and Normanton Visitor Information Centres.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

• High level technical skill in managing hatchery operations
• The ability to tell the story of the centre, hatchery and the Barramundi to a broad audience
• The ability to supervise and mentor an enthusiastic staff
• A collaborative approach to working on projects involving a number of stakeholders
