Tourism & Events Officer 

Assist in the coordination and preparation of community events and tourism promotion!

• Permanent, full time role!
• 6 weeks annual leave!
• Base salary of circa $71,500 pa, including Normanton locality allowance!

As the Tourism & Events Officer, you will work to coordinate and deliver the Carpentaria Shire's events calendar, while providing a high level of support to both the Director of Community Development, Tourism & Regional Prosperity and the Community Development Coordinator.

About the role........

• Coordinates and delivers the Carpentaria Shire's regular events calendar as well as one-off community and tourism promotion events including the Outback By The Sea Festival and Outback and Ocean Film Festival
• Provides a high level of administrative support to both the Director of Community Development, Tourism & Regional Prosperity and the Community Development Coordinator.
• Coordinates pre-event meetings, including preparing the agenda and minute taking
• Develops promotional material such as posters, advertisements and brochures.

About you..........

• A knowledge of, or an ability to quickly grasp, an understanding of tourism and information requirements for Carpentaria Shire
• Certificate in Business Administration, Event Management or similar or significant experience in administration or promotional work
• Excellent writing, analytical and research skills
• Intermediate to high level of competency in graphics software such as Microsoft Publisher
• A class C manual drivers' licence is essential for this position.
